Brigette is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with over 15 years of experience supporting adults as they navigate anxiety, grief, depression, and major life transitions. She is a Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional and has extensive training in grief work, mindfulness based approaches, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Her goal is to help clients build the skills and confidence needed to move toward a life that feels more grounded, empowered, and aligned with who they want to be.
Many clients come to Brigette feeling overwhelmed by anxiety that seems to appear out of nowhere, by stress that feels unmanageable, or by changes in life they did not expect. Clients may be noticing shifts in their sleep, mood, or ability to cope. Brigette understands that taking the first step to reach out for help can feel incredibly difficult and guides clients through the process with compassion, clarity, and a collaborative spirit.
Brigette enjoys working with people who are motivated to make positive changes in their lives. Clients deserve to feel supported, safe, and heard. Together, she explores what is getting in the way and helps clients build practical tools to move forward. She encourages clients to imagine what life could look like if they felt more in control, more hopeful, and more connected to themselves. Her role is to walk alongside clients on that journey, one step at a time.
Brigette uses a variety of treatment modalities based on individual needs, with CBT as her primary approach. She specializes in anxiety, depression, and phase of life issues, and believes deeply in promoting whole person wellness so clients can show up as their best selves.
Brigette is independently licensed in both Ohio and Florida. For those who feel ready to begin this work, she welcomes you to reach out. It is a gift for her to walk with clients as they grow, heal, and reclaim their lives.
BRIGETTE RUSZKOWSKI'S APPROACH
Brigette Ruszkowski's Therapy Treatment Philosophy
Counseling for Women
Counseling for women offers vital support for trauma, transitions, and societal pressures. It fosters healing, resilience, and empowerment helping women navigate challenges, reclaim their voice, and thrive emotionally, relationally, and personally.
Geriatric Counseling
Geriatric counseling is important because it supports older adults as they navigate the emotional, cognitive, and social changes that come with aging. Retirement, shifting identity, health challenges, grief, and evolving family roles can create stress, loneliness, or uncertainty, and counseling offers a compassionate space to process these transitions. It helps individuals maintain emotional wellbeing, strengthen coping skills, and preserve a sense of purpose and connection. By addressing both the practical and deeply personal aspects of aging, geriatric counseling empowers older adults to live with dignity, resilience, and fulfillment in their later years.
Grief and Loss Counseling
Grief and loss counseling is important because it gives people a safe, supportive place to process the emotional, physical, and relational impact of losing someone or something meaningful. It helps them understand the complex, non‑linear nature of grief, validates their feelings, and provides coping tools that reduce isolation and prevent people from becoming stuck in overwhelming pain. Most importantly, it guides individuals toward healing and meaning-making so they can carry their loss while still moving forward in life.
Anxiety & Depression Counseling
Anxiety and depression counseling helps clients understand the root causes of their emotional struggles while developing practical strategies to improve mood and reduce distress. It creates a safe space to build self-awareness, restore hope, and promote long-term emotional well-being.
Trauma Therapy
Trauma therapy is important because it helps people safely process experiences that overwhelmed their ability to cope, leaving lasting emotional, physical, and relational effects. It provides a structured space to understand how trauma has shaped thoughts, behaviors, and the nervous system, while teaching grounding, regulation, and coping skills that restore a sense of control. Through this work, individuals can reduce symptoms like anxiety, hypervigilance, and avoidance, rebuild trust in themselves and others, and begin to integrate the traumatic experience in a way that supports healing, resilience, and long‑term wellbeing.
Christian Counseling
If desired, integrating your faith into therapy is one of the best ways we believe you can tackle mental health issues. Brigette's goal is bring you closer to God and figure out core issues in your life.
